Where is the Flintstones Bar?
Does anyone know of a bar in the Torremendo-Benejuzar area (I think) that is nicknamed the "Flintstones" bar as it is made up of several cave rooms, I also understand it has lovely outside areas. Where is it? What's its real name? thanks
No not the Ventura, the "Flintstones" bar is a Spanish one in namee and somewhere Torremendo way. Thanks anyway
Well there is one in Jacarilla, which is near Benijuzar, I wonder if that is the one you mean. Yes it is lovely, very Spanish, they don't do food but drinks obviously. Also they do specialised teas, every flavour you can think of.
could it be la cuevas in san miguel de salinas, that is a cave restaurant and very friendly, good food and very unusual, we have been a few times and enjoyed the experience.
the name is la cuevas and its in San Miguel itself and if you go along the main street there is a finger sign pointing you down the back streets. Its impossible to direct as its around the one way system of little back streets and I would get you lost trying. Ask anyone in the town if you get lost, but all roads seem to lead past then so to speak.
Here is a link to their website which may help
Hi Elaine
I had friends who used to live next to the bar in Jacarilla it was run like a family home and you had to ring the bell to get in - great fun if no one else comes up with directions email me [email protected] and I will write directons for you next time I am over that way - it is not easy to find but it is behind a really big old mansion house that is on the left hand side as you get into Jacarilla from Algorfa and before you get the the roundabout that takes you to Bigastro - hope this helps Susan
Yes I think its that one in Jacarilla she is talking about. I think its lovely, but I have never had to ring a bell to get in! And it is only open on a Thursday, Friday and the weekend. Or at least that is what it used to be, I do n ot know if that has changed,
Thanks to all of you who have commented on this - we now have a very interesting restaurant to visit in San Miguel and the bar in Jacarilla which, I believe, is what we were after. Looking forward to trying both
Could have been Casa Ventura on the San Luis urbanisation. Now revamped but does have outside pool, bar, etc.
